Harvest Digital Agriculture summoned a hand full of motion design and 3D freelancers, to create a teaser for the new top secret concept car called “Quant e-Sportlimousine”.
Together with Alexander Hanowski, I developed three visual concepts and presented them to the clients in a pitch meeting in Switzerland.
With a green lighted version in our backpack, we started immediately to create the video within a four-week crunch from scratch.
We developed a lot of animatics and tests. Especially the scattering of the stone, based on the growing crystals, was kind of difficult to elaborate.
The first two weeks, we focused on Softimage XSI oriented solution, but somehow it ended up in almost nothing usable. We had tons of test renderings, but none of them made it in to the final product.
Finally, we figured everything out with Thrausi and other Mograph tricks.
With Kay Tennemann, Johannes Kollender and Peter Balicki on my side, we had a really powerful taskforce for all the required elements.
It was one of the crazy kind of productions. We moved to a part-ready office area, worked a lot, everyone got ill by flue. Also, our office was threatened by several floods in this time, which is normal in Hamburg in winter. But, seriously, you work 14 hours and then you can´t leave for home, because the water keeps you trapped in the office.
Well, in this production everything came together.
Nevertheless, we all did our best to meet the tight deadline and overwhelmed all barriers.
The Harvest producer team and all of the postproduction were super nice and supported us as much as possible.
And till the end, the production team stood together strong.
